THE PROPOSAL
WHEN WE GOT ENGAGED

HOW IT HAPPENED
Mary had just gotten back from a mission's trip to Uganda, Africa. J was coming to the airport (JFK) to pick me up. He kept on calling me to find out exactly where I was in the airport. We ended up by different exits so I waited outside the airport with some people from my missions team beside me. We spotted J and we ran over to eachother and hugged, kissed, etc.
I told J I had a gift for him. I showed him the drum I bought him from Uganda. He replied saying "Well I have a surprise for you too..." He then went down on bended knee and asked me to marry him in front of everyone!
It was so freakin' awesome! Everyone was screaming and hugging eachother.
My mom and my sister Irene were there recording it all too. Made a pretty good video.

MARY'S ATTENDANTS
Irene Rickard, Maid Of Honor - Irene is Mary's twin sister. She's way cool. She married the love of her life in June of 2006.
Dorothy Popeleski, Bridesmaid - Dorothy is Mary's older sister. She's married to a great guy - Rob and they have 3 beautiful kids!
Becky Brandenburg, Bridesmaid - Becky and Mary have been friends since 5th grade. She is an aspiring elementary school teacher and a great shopping partner;)
Jennifer Rosenthal, Bridesmaid - Jenn is one of Mary's closest girlfriends. We recently we to Uganda together. Experienced a lot of amazing things. Jenn is a clientel specialist for J Crew. She's one fashionable lady.
Kayla Popeleski, Flower Girl - Kayla is Mary's neice! She's so adorable. She loves talking on the phone (especially to J).
J'S ATTENDANTS
Mark Correa, Best Man - Mark is one of J's best friends. They met each other in 5th grade and have been close ever since. Mark lives in California and works to protect our borders.
Jarett DeSanti, Groomsman - Jarett is J's younger brother and most talented of the 3. J aspires to be as good a musician as Jarett one day. Without Jarett, J's life growing up would not have been complete.
Greg Stoyles, Groomsman - Greg is J's 2nd younger brother and you'll never have a dull moment with him around. Greg and J have nothing and everything in common. J is proud to call Greg his brother. Greg is married and has a beautiful daughter named Isobel.
David Weiss, Groomsman - Dave and J have been close friends almost as long as Mark and J. They met in 6th grade. Dave, Mark, and J have spent few days apart until the recent years of our busy lives. Dave is a Senior programmer for Harris Corp. in Rochester, NY
Chris Mitchell, Groomsman - Chris (The Bass Player) and J met in college and spent many hours playing music together. Chris still talks about starting up the band again but life just seems to keep getting in the way. Maybe someday Chris.
